nursing schools

I will have a BS degree in management but I want to become a nurse and I am totally lost. I would like to find a program maybe 12 months or less are there any out there and are there any grants because I will have to quit working. I am desperate for some advice.:)

There are quite a few programs for second-degree students. It depends on what sort of nurse you want to be (LPN, RN, RN with a BSN). I'm looking to enter a second-degree BSN program, and from my research, the accelerated ones range from 12 months to a little longer.

I think it's harder to get funding for second degrees, but there are scholarships out there and you can look for opportunities after you graduate to have tuition reimbursed or loans forgiven.

It'll be easier for you to make some plans once you decide what route you want to take! :)

There are also MS degrees in General Nursing that are offered to second-degree students looking to become nurses, as well as Direct-Entry MSN programs that kick you out as an APN. However, those programs are likely to take more than 12 months to complete. At least you're guaranteed to get Federal GradPLUS Loans for those degrees, though.

Yeah, most of the time you are not eligible for Federal grants if you already have a Bachelors. I don't know anythinga bout the GradPLUS Loans the TheSquire mentioned, though.

But you can definitely find 2nd degree programs. The one that I did was 13-months after I finished my pre-reqs.
