nursing school credibility

U.S.A. Florida

I recently stopped working in a unfulfilling career. I need to start bringing in some income soon and want to change career to nursing. I'm looking into CNA programs so I can work while going to nursing school. I'll probably do the LPN to BSN route; because I have a family to support. The direct RN route is too long on a CNA paycheck.

That aside, I'm looking at Ultimate Medical Academy, which appears to have a many negative comments but they lack detail. The comments I've seen are broad and general stating that attending for-profit schools your credits will not transfer to other schools or "don't go there". Ultimate Medical Academy is one of the few CNA programs in the Tampa Bay Area that is approved by the Florida Board of Nursing. Do colleges really ignore this? Is there a more influential approval or accreditation I should look for in a school? Right now I'm only looking at the CNA program and the credit transfer is not critical. I also saw comments that as long as you are licensed colleges in Florida will accept your credits regardless of where you attended. This seems too good to be true. In my experience, transferring schools you always lose credits.

In summary

Florida Nursing Board Approved program. Credibility? Employability?

What accredidations are most important or are they? Some comments indicate only licensure counts.

Only licensure matters? All credits transfer regardless of school if you are licensed?

Ultimate Medical Academy? Comments thoughts about the program?
