Nursing Routes

Hi,

I am a licensed massage therapist and I am looking for guidance on paths to nursing. I have an A.A.S in Massage Therapy and have used all my FAFSA for associates. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Associate programs can be an affordable option where you might be able to do a payment plan instead of using loans. There are also entry level bachelor and masters programs. Research the schools in your area and see what's available. From there, you can look at entry requirements and costs.

If you have already exhausted your FAFSA eligibility, it is unlikely that you will receive additional government aid for pursuing another degree. Most likely, any assistance offered would come in the form of loans, which is what I experienced after using FAFSA for my first degree. To help mitigate costs, I would consider completing your prerequisites at a community college and then transferring to a four-year university to finish your degree. Alternatively, if you prefer to go directly to a four-year program, you could explore scholarships—whether academic, athletic, or those offered outside the university, such as essay-based awards. I hope this helps!
