Nursing Refresher Programme

Hi I am thinking of looking into Nursing refresher courses, I am originally Psych registered and twelve years ago bridged to General Nursing.

This was part-time over two years and since then I have worked in Aged Care working back shifts and feel my level of clinical experience is near zilch. I would like more flexibility in my work choices (have a toddler) and thought I should try back in Mainstream Nursing, I would LOVE to hear from anyone that has either done this or a return to the workforce programme..............Lyn

Hi,

You don't say where you are living, but home healthcare is usually more flexible than nursing in an institution.

Hi- I am half way thru a reentry program through CASboard but this doesn't seem to be what you're needing. Mayb you could arrange a transition program in acute care to suit your needs.

Hi Annys can you tell me what CASboard is?, I did speak to one hospital who suggested I do the new grad programme which would be great but not possible at the moment with Abbey only being nearly three. I am really so not want to be pay like two hundred and fifty plus a week for childcare.

Thanks for your reply...............Lyn

Hi Joanne, I am in Brisbane :)

Hi Lyn,

The CAS board provides distance education program for nurses wanting to reenter nursing and for overseas trained nurses to achieve their licence to practice. The QNC provided the contact details
