Nursing Perspective

Hello,

I am planning on applying to all the nursing schools in the Chicago with a 3.0 gpa. I have finished all my prerequisites and I need tips on how to make my application stand out amonst other applicants. I am currently working as a CNA getting experience for my application, so do you think being a CNA is a plus?

You'll have to look at the criteria for each school. Your entrance exam score, your prereq GPA and overall GPA are important factors, and each school weighs them differently. Do your research. Make sure your GPA meets the minimum requirement, or don't waste your time, as they won't even consider you if you don't meet that. From there, sometimes volunteer experience counts for something, but it often takes having been somewhere a year or more for it to do much. Again, do your research, and see what the schools are looking for.

Thank you very much ! All the schools I am applying to has a requirement of a 2.7 gpa.
