I wrote my paper for my midterm and I found some nice journals; I'm just wondering what other journals people use for their papers and projects.
I like MEDSURG nursing, critical care nursing, and Some of the journals from the UK such as Nursing Older People.
American Journal of Nursing is ok, but I feel like it is too wordy and difficult to read for a first year. Maybe I'll like it better later on.

When I do research for papers in school I don't flock to one particular journal. I go on the nursing databases provided by the school and do a search for the particular topic I'm discussing. I choose articles based on how well it supports my thesis/argument.
Right now my capstone course is doing an EBP project on PIV/CVC adherence to policy in regards to tubing/dressings. I just pulled some articles on infection prevention, closed system vs open system PIV, use of CHG impregnated enders for PIV and a needs assessment for staff. The articles came from all over the place; not one of them came from a "popular" nursing journal.

I agree with Okami- I perform a CINAHL search for a topic. I select the article that best suits my needs regardless of which journal published it.

I agree CINAHL and search for the article regardless of journal.
I do searches by topics too, but I ca t help but notice that I just like some journals better than others. If I see the same topic covered by AJN and Critical Care Nurse, I will probably lean towards Critical Care just because I prefer that journal.
