Hi everyone!

I was just hired at a psychiatric hospital. I am really interested in the field. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what journals they subscribe to and how they like them. Thanks!!!

It is good to have interested individuals working in Psychiatric Nursing.

Many of your typical Nursing magazines (AJN, Nursing2010, etc.) usually devote at least one article per issue to Psychiatric Nursing. Psychology Today is a good one from the perspective of the study of behavior.

One good book I'd recommend is The Alchemy of the Mind by Diane Ackerman. Marty Sleigman's Learned Optimism is good, also. Wendy Krminer's I'm Dysfunctional, You're Dysfunctional is a great read. There are lots more.

Go to your local bookstore and look under Psychology and Self Help. You'll find all sorts of interesting literature there.

Good luck to you in your endeavors, bmforshee.
