Hello everyone, I am currently studying nursing at VCU. My university nursing class has assigned me an interview project where I have to interview a professional working in the career I'm interested in pursuing. So if a nurse anywhere from a CNA to an RN would be interested in answering these questions, it would be greatly appreciated! There are only 10 questions as you see below and should only take you about 10 minutes. If you would like to be my interviewee and help me out please include your name and position as well. Thank You!
1. Did you ever think of pursuing another career outside of nursing field? If so what career and how was the transition to become a nurse?
2. What are some of the best and worst challenges you face being a nurse?
3. What or who inspired you to become a nurse?
4. What do you hope to contribute to the nursing field as you advance in your career? Do you see yourself in your current position for the rest of your life?
5. Where did you attend school for you current position? How many year of school did you take for you position? What was the most challenging part of your studies?
6. Did you ever question if nursing was the right position for you? Why? What/Who reassured you to continue?
7. Describe a typical day for you. Do you work overtime? Night shift or day shift? etc.
8. What are some of the main differences from nurses working the day shift versus nurses working the night shift?
9. How do you cope with overwhelming stress and burnouts?
10. How do you ensure all your patients are heard and respected?
