Does anyone know of the different nursing grants available out there?

Im not sure of all the grants for nursing, but I would look into hospital partnership programs...That's what i'm doing now. I know a lot of hospitals here on L.I. offer them. They pay for your schooling or a majority of it and in return you sign a contract to work for them for a certain amount of time...My hospital is paying for everything(tuition, books, uniform, etc.) and I will owe them four years of my life. :uhoh21:
So if there's any hospitals you would want to work for, you should look to inquire information if they offer such a program. Sometimes you don't even have to be an employee at the hospital.
good luck!

I did a lot of searching for grants and scholarships when I was going to nursing school. I found few I qualified for as I wasn't impoverished and didn't fall into their other requirements. I only managed to get a scholarship for $4K of schooling (through Health Careers Foundation). Some hospitals will do a tuition reimbursement & I passed on a hospital that would have given me $5K. The other option I found is to work for a medically underserved area for a couple of years to get a large loan repayment.

A lot of states offer state-funded scholarship/grant programs that target nurses and other health professionals, but these are often not well-publicized and most people aren't aware of them. I know that my state has a few different scholarship programs that benefit nursing students and nurses.
When I went to grad school, for instance, I was able to get a significant chunk of $$$ from my state from a scholarship program that was designed to increase the number of health professionals in the state (not just nurses) -- and the program was set up so that if I returned to the state (my permanent home) after graduation and worked in the state a year for each year I got money for school (not for the state, even, just in the state -- I could work for any employer I wanted to) I didn't have to pay back any of the money. (If I had not returned to the state after graduation, I would have had to pay the money back.)
Until I became very determined about looking for scholarship money, I had lived in my state for many years and had no idea those programs were there -- they have not been advertised or publicized at all. Be sure to look into whether there are any state programs that you may qualify for.

While you are working for that hospital as repayment for your education, do you have to work at a reduced hourly rate? Or, is just the 4 years repayment?
The four years is the repayment... if anything happeneds where I have to move and can no longer work for them, I have to pay them back for everything.... Im hoping that will not happen.
