Nursing Exam Application Question

What do you answer to this question and what does it entail? ( Will you be available to provide health care services in special needs shelters or help staff disaster medical assistance teams during times of emergency or major disaster)

What does this mean exactly? Will you get paid for during this? Will they just call you up and you're required to go help no matter what? Will you be prosecuted if you don't go help or can't?

    Interesting....I applied oh I guess it was about 4 months ago? Took so long for it to get through and approved, so maybe a little longer. Anyways, that question wasn’t on mine. Maybe it’s because of everything going on. Have you contacted the nursing board? I had a question and emailed the NCLEX help email address that I found for my states nursing board under the NCLEX section and they responded pretty quickly

    You’re welcome! Wish I could help more! I tried to look up the question and couldn’t find anything, but I did find something about disaster preparedness and shelters in Florida law. That talked about health care people coming in to special needs shelters to help set up and care for people. But it said that happened if there was money for it basically. So, I’m guessing maybe if you say yes to that, you’ll be put on a list in your state, and then contacted if they need to for the special needs shelters, emergencies, or disasters. My guess would also be you’d be paid through whatever funding they have to be able to do it. But, those are just complete guesses. The board will be able to help you better than me!
