Nurse Pay

I think the pay for the 7+ years may be a little inaccurate, but like the last poster stated, it will vary with specialty. Also, agency, float pool and travel nurses will make more, depending on how much they are willing to work. I live in VA and wish I made $40,000 per year. . Then again, I only work six days per two week pay period, would be burnt out if I did much more than that.

The pay is all over the place. It just depends on where to live, what specialty you work in, what hours you are willing to put up with, what benefits you are willing to forgo, what your level of education is. I would recommend you look into it in the area where you want to practice and keep in mind the cost of living in that area. 85,000/yr+ sounds great but if single family homes in that area are 650,000 and up, then it's not such a good deal.

It depends were you live. Here in Miami there are lots of jobs. Once you have experience you can make a lot of $$$$. in the 40,000s to start. Most of my friends are closer to $100,000./yr. Even in Miami it damn good.

I will be graduating in June and have already accepted a job paying $42,000/yr in Columbus, Ohio
