Hi,
I'm a nursing student considering the nurse candidate program. I spoke briefly with an airforce recruiter regarding the program and am also requesting info from the navy. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some additional information about getting into the program. Specifically I was wondering how many people they take into the program each year and if people in NCP qualify for loan repayment program. I appreciate any info sent my way. Thanks!

Hello,
I am just beginning my application process for the Army nurse candidate program and they offer a monthly stipend along with a bonus. According to the most recent pamplet that I have the stipend is a grand monthly with a 10k bonus. The service requirement is 4 years if you are a senior in your last year or 5 years if you are a junior.
Good luck to both of us!

Army Nurse Corps Benefits
Hi Corvette Guy,
I am in the process of selecting my base preferences. While I anticipate possible deployment I have questions about deployment. Would you be willing to communicate by pm or is the forum okay?
My base of preference is in another state and during basic training, (BOC) I could have someone foster my three cats here in my current state yet, would hope to bring my pets with me to bases. However, if I will be deployed right away I would rather just keep my cats at the foster here in this state and reconnect with them after my deployment is complete.
This is really my only concern and while I understand that parents are deployed all the time and that I am merely a pet owner, I am a rescue pet owner and it is an actual concern.
I have a feeling that I will end up re-enlisting once I am in. I am forty and pretty darn sure that the Army will be for me, at this stage in my life.
Thanks,
