NSU Fall 2020 BSN

Hey guys so I applied to Nova's BSN program at the Kendall campus maybe 3 weeks ago & recently got a call to let me know that I was selected for an interview. Just wanted to start a thread for anyone else who is applying early like me or will be applying for the Fall program. If anyone has already done the interview, what questions were you asked? I hear it's mainly scenario questions. Also, what was the exam & essay like? Hope this helps someone out & thnx to whoever replies! ?

Hey, I applied already & got accepted. Everything was a really easy process. I did apply for the Davie campus though. I wouldn’t worry TOO much about the Kaplan, I didn’t score the best but, I didn’t fail either. Not to say don’t try at all, still review for it just to strengthen your chances. The essay was a scenario question & the interview was all questions about yourself, no right or wrong answer. Just stay calm & be yourself. Don’t go on a tangent during your interview. Answer the question & don’t make up any scenarios. Youtube helped me prepare for it as well just to get a feel on what type of questions they’d ask. I promise it’s not too bad!

Hi @Manu0212, I just applied for the Miami campus today for fall 2020! How was the Kaplan, interview, and essay for you? I haven't found anyone other than you who applied to the Miami campus everyone is either going to Davie or Fort lauderdale LOL. Did you get accepted? If so, how long did it take for you to find out after you completed the interview and Kaplan?

Hi @sonia1498,the Kaplan was not as hard as I expected. I used one of Kaplan's books to study, "Nursing School Entrance Exams Prep" & it really helped out a lot with the math portion, which is my weakest area but I did good in. Also, there is lots of physiology so review that. The interview & essay are a breeze to be honest, the essay is simple, doesnt have to be perfect & the interview is not longer than 5 minutes. Just to go off topic & answer their questions as best you can, they mainly ask about you. My interview was the 18th & I got accepted that same month on the 21st. Good luck & I hope this helped out!

Hi @sonia1498 and @Manu0212. I was accepted into the BSN program for miami campus. did any of you guys received an email or acceptance package?

I wouldnt worry, just wait on the packet & it tells you what to do from there ? You do have to pay a deposit to hold your spot so if you haven’t gotten anything in a week, I’d call just to be save your spot.

Hey guys,

I applied through NursingCas about almost 2 weeks ago and applied to NSU itself last week. I still haven't sent in my transcripts but I am doing that tomorrow. How long did it take you guys to receive a call for an interview? I'm also applying for the Miami campus not Davie.

I dont remember exactly how long but it was around 3 weeks, almost a month. I remember applying around January 18 & had my interview on February 18th, but they had called me two weeks prior to that date to let me know I was selected.

Thank you for the info! I just checked back and I submitted my application May 14th (10 days ago) to NursingCas. So fingers crossed I hear back this week! ?
