NS application reference

Should I ask a very close friend or former boss to be one of my NS application references? I need three ref, I have chosen two already.( Close family friend who is a retired RN, and A&P I II instructor)

I would definitely request an LOR from your previous employer. Your previous employer is able to attest your work performance, how well you work with colleagues and clients alike, your leadership abilities, problem solving skills, how responsible you are...all that jazz . Basically, characteristics your prospective nursing program would be looking for when selecting their ideal student nurse.
