I was just wondering out of curiosity what nurse practitioner's everyday schedule is like? I am debating whether to go to CRNA school or NP, so any insights, thoughts, exp, advices, ect.. would help very much. Thank you.

NPs work is as varied as what they do. I know some PNPs and NNPs and ACNPs that work shift work in the hospital 24/7. I know FNPs, ACNPs and PNPs that work 9-5 M-F no holidays or weekends. I know others who work in nursing homes.
Its pretty varied.

I work in a community health center. I work four 10 hr. days and one Sat per month for 6 hours. No Sundays, holidays, or on-call!! Sometimes my 10 hour days are more like 11 hours, but other times I finish early. I'm pretty happy with this schedule!!
That's awesome. I wouldn't mind having your schedule. Thanks for the reply.
I guess I could have put my schedule up too: I work in nephrology 5 days a week, usually work between 40-45 hours and its very flexible. I am on call from 0700 to 1700 Mon-Fri for phone calls and I have call every 5th weekend at two hospitals 50 miles away.
I like my schedule.
