NP vs. PA

I just transferred to York College, just before finishing my BA in finance, to get my pre reqs to get into a PA program. So far I only have only taken 2 bio classes that I have both received A's in. I graduated from a community college with an A.S.S in Business Admin and a 2.7 GPA. I then transfered to Baruch and currently have a 2.9 GPA, but I have only taken 20 credits there.

I have been doing a lot of research and it seems that many people with much better credentials than me have failed to get in to a PA program year after year. I am located in NY, but I am willing to relocate anywhere I get accepted. The last thing I want to do is sit around for a year because I did not get accepted. Is it even worth trying to persue with a GPA under 3.0?

Another question is I have been looking into nursing as a backup, but I would have to choose one of the other. I would really like to get into a PA program, but if the odds are against me then I would prefer doing something I can get into. My point is I am 23 and dont want to waste anymore time.

Nursing programs seem to be a lot easier to get into than PA programs. If I could get into an accelerated bsn I would be finsihed in 2 years and I can work 3 days a week while working on my masters.

So what would you guys say are the advantages and disadvantages of a PA vs NP?
