do you have any ideas how long is the process in ASC? from application to departure? In some agency the average is almost a year!

I'm about to take my CBT but i really dont have the idea on the exam structure. I have some questions here and I hope you can help me get through all of these?

1. Is the type of questions and its structure/ format the same with NCLEX, HAAD or local board exam?

2. Is self review is enough to pass?

3. Aside from the blueprint, what are the suggested reading materials?

4. How critical is the critical questions (those labeled as 'E')?

You can read the NMC Code and Medicine Management standard. The SCIE site also has great e-learning modules that will be valuable when preparing for the test. The Royal Marsden Hospital manual compiles a lot of these along with nursing procedures based in the UK setting.

Exam is 120 questions, all random multiple choice. No special algorithm like in NCLEX.

As for question distribution, it really depends. You can read about the probability of topics that may appear on your test in the Pearson VUE guide for CBT takers. All you can be sure of is that you will get around 50 or so items that will be counted towards the critical questions part of the exam. These are unmarked, but they usually relate towards patient safety.

Just use the time (you have 4 hours) to weigh each choice carefully and you'll get through it just fine.

hello guys,, regarding the declaration of good health, whose stamp is going to be used? the personal stamp of the doctor or the hospital stamp where they are working?

Hospital seal if the doctor is affiliated/employed in that hospital. Doctor's personal seal if otherwise.

It was stated in the online form itself that the scanned documents have to be in PDF format, was it not? If you haven't submitted it yet, you can still change it. Else, you might wanna contact NMC. Just have your PDF files ready.

where did you get this info? as far as I know as long as it is accessible it is fine. I will phone them later to ask about that. NMC didn't put any info about uploading PDF file specifically on the application portal isn't it?

have checked again my file and I have the same issue.

My bad, you're right. I just checked, too and there wasn't anything on the portal. I just thought it required PDF since the file extension in my laptop when selecting which file to upload defaults to ".pdf". Also doesn't help clear things up that every form on there is in PDF.

Well, if somebody can really clarify this, all the better.
