hi everyone! i just graduated here in the philippines last april 2008. i'm still to take the local board exam. can i apply for nclex at this time? if so, what state am i qualified for eligibility (no local board yet, no ssn#)? thanks a lot.

Please take the time to read this forum as much you need to e aware of. Firstly you are not applying for NCLEX but licensure to be a RN in the US of which NCLEX is part of that process. Secondly you have to decide where you want to live in the US and apply to that BON/BRN although we do recommend that you do not go to California for initial licensure as they will not give a license without SSN which you will not get until in the US on a valid work visa. Much as already been written about this so suggest a search. Even then some states do require local boards and expect that to increase over time. Lastly there is retrogression in the US and expect years before you can moe and that is if you are lucky as demand is high than visa allocation. You may want to consider a move to another country and gain some experiencewhilst waiting and for that you will need a local license as most other countries require one.
