Sorry...this is a long post...
OKAY! For those of you in Northeast Florida, you & may be interested to know that Sanford Brown has started a nursing program.:) The first class just started, the next class starts in July and is a night class. Before you trash the school, I want to say that I graduated from their MA program and I am thrilled with the education that I received. They require that you take the NLN exam, which they offer once a month. I took it on the 16th and I did really well. If you are interested in the school and go in to talk to them about it, they will let you borrow a study guide. This book is very helpful, the test is HARD! The program is accredited by the florida board of nursing and acis, but they are not yet accredited by the NLN, they will apply for this after completion of the first class. The cost is much better than Keiser, 30K for the whole thing. I have taken almost all of my prereqs for SJRCC & FCCJ and I have a 3.9 GPA. I won't have to retake those and they will credit me for that, so I won't have to pay quite so much, but I don't know yet what the price will be. I am tired of jumping through hoops for community colleges. SJRCC in Orange Park has such a bad reputation that I changed to FCCJ, but I have to take 3 math classes for FCCJ. I will have to take the algebra at Sanford, but it is better than 3 of them! I am tickled pink about the program. I am nervous, though, that I will have a hard time finding jobs. I posted a thread earlier about this and those who responded seemed to think it would not be a problem as long as I pass the NCLEX. But, I was just reading some stuff about Keiser and someone mentioned that they talked to some HR people at different hospitals who said they don't like Keiser's nurses. I am not going to give up my dream :heartbeat:heartbeatbecause of this, though! I just wanted to let everyone in the area who shares my dream but is frustrated with the public college system know that you have a new option!!!
