Hello Im a new RN at the age of 53. I was a lpn for 15 years. Now the school I went to was just approved not accredited so I have to now go back to school for my BSN to get a job because most employers will not hire me without the accreditation ?. I'm so tired and annoyed my fault tho. So my question is I could have my BSN at age 55. Is there work out there for older nurses?

Yes there is. You just have to search. I think the lack of experience will impact your search more than your age. Did you graduate and receive your RN before the program was designated as unaccredited? Or was there no accreditation status throughout your enrollment?
About this BSN. Am I missing a new trend? Each of my nursing programs required initial RN licensure from an accredited ASN/ADN/Diploma program...or so I thought. I might need to go back and re-read the admission requirements more thoroughly. I guess I may have overlooked that detail since I’ve always only searched for accredited institutions just to save myself from the hassles later on.?
I have homecare experience, I'm trying to work in another field where I can obtain more experience but it's not easy if no one is willing to except you with just homecare experience
