new nurse joining -code blue committee or budget committee?

My goal is to work as a LPN and gain valuable work experience while completing a bridge program. :) I am a new LPN graduate and currently work as an activity assistant/CNA. Although I am not utilizing hands on critical thinking skills as much, I am very much able to be more attentive to patients and their families more than ever-and I love it! I just can not decide on which one to join because I am curious about budgeting and finances but also aware that code blue training can be valuable. my question is which one will help with continuing my contribution to the need of health care and improve patient satisfaction? Thanks!!

While I can't really envision what a "code blue committee" would do, I would always encourage a new nurse to pursue clinical experience rather than administrative experience.

I'm very confused. You are an LPN but working as an activity assistant? Or have you not passed NCLEX yet? How do you sit on a code blue committee as an activity assistant? Is this a nursing role? I'm just missing maybe something before I can advise you.

If you sit on a budget committee, you will help influence where and how money will be spent.

You will also gain a broader understanding of why money is spent in certain areas and why you can't spend money for something everyone agrees is needed.

Understanding the big picture will better equip you to advocate for changes that will help patients and clinical staff.
