I started at my new job yesterday, today we had a site wide meeting, after the meeting we returned to finish orientation ,two other employees who are in orientation were talking about how high the turn over they had heard about from other employees and how they will let you go for no reason. My interaction with the providers was positive . Im trying to keep a open mind as I feel this is a good fit , and they were excited to bring me on as a provider. I have decided to keep my mouth shut and just go with the flow. However all the negative comments that i heard secondhand are bothering me. suggestions advice please

I can't say much for NP jobs with that reputation, but it sounds to me like this is hearsay at this point. I agree that you should keep an open mind about the situation and make the most of the experience. If you remain positive, maybe that will negate any negative comments people have made. If you get down about it, it might end up that its a self-fulfilling prophecy based on hearsay. I say you have a good plan and go out there and be successful!

Update 5 weeks into working at my new job I've found all the rumors to be unfounded . I've yet to find any of the remarks with merit.

My advice is keep up the good work and continue to do what they hired you for, and what you are being paid for. My dad was an advanced level leader in his career and he always advised me professionally. He also told me to stay clear of the negative people. I agree. Just enjoy your job!
