New grad

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello everyone,

im really curious as to what to do during and after nursing school!! Where do I get a job at? It's seems like most places require expiernce. The only experience I have is in phlebotomy. Will that help with landing a job right after graduation or will it still be difficult to find a job. I'm currently finishing up my pre requisites and will be attending CSU East Bay.

Organizations that hire new graduates will indicate this in their job postings. In my part of the country, most hospitals only bring in new grads via their residency programs... usually twice a year. New graduates need extra support and development before they are able to assume an independent workload. Some employers simply do not have the extra resources to provide this support, so they will only hire experienced nurses.

As you progress through your nursing education, you will undoubtedly become aware of much more information about healthcare employers in your area. You'll discover which ones have new grad residencies and how to apply for these programs.

Wishing you the best of luck on your nursing education
