Hello everyone reading this post! I'm a new grad and I'm looking for my first job as an RN here in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm depressed and I hope I can find a job soon. I applied online and applied to one of the hospital in downtown this week. Any suggestions where I can apply and will hire new grad?? Thanks

Vanderbilt just had interviews for their new grad residency program. I was on their wait list for interviews. They called me yesterday and said they had an interview cancellation and wanted me to come to Nashville for a interview this morning. I told them I can't drive to Nashville for an interview with less than 24 hr notice. She sounded surprised that I wouldn't drop everything and run down there at the last minute.
Hi.. Thanks for the reply.. Are you from Nashville? I see. How did you apply for that program? I know someone who work there, my sister's friends work there. One is a new grad and she got the job because she knows the manager.
To Don1984, RN. Can you be my job hunting partner? :) Can I ask your number? If you don't mind me asking.
I went to indeed.com and searched new grad RN. I have applied for jobs in 12 states. I live in Indiana and had a phone interview today for a NICU position in Louisville. I will be driving there within the next two weeks to have a in-person interview, talk to the nurses and Assistant Nursing managers, and tour the unit. I fly to North Carolina for a NICU new grad residency interview on the 17th. They are paying for my airfare, car rental and hotel.

Thanks. Unfortunately, they are accepting applications August 4-September 10, 2014 for the Winter 2015 cohort, which starts in February 2015. It's due already. I have to wait for next year!
Once you get 15 posts, you can PM me here. I can help you as much as I can. Hopefully, one of the two hospitals will offer me a position before the end of the month, so I won't be job searching for very much longer.
Good for you. I wish you good luck on your coming interviews. Well, at first I'm thinking how did you do it? And I realized you have compact license right? hmm mine is single state license only.
So, why you have to move? There are some hospitals in Indiana right?
Ok. I will try to post more. Thank you Don1984. Good luck and praying for us for our success :)
No Indiana is not a compact state. I applied for a KY and NC single state license. Indianapolis area is saturated with new grads and displaced nurses from hospitals downsizing. Two of my classmates got jobs pretty easily in Louisville so I thought I would apply there. We want to move to a bigger city to have more to do on our days off.
Yeah. Bigger city has more opportunities too. But you said you applied in 12 states? I thought you got the compact license
