New Grad

So I'm sure this is probably the 100th time a post like this has been posted but what is the new grad situation like around the Boston area? Do you think it will improve by summer 2015 if it is currently slow?

Are you in a BSN program or an ADN program? That's the single most important determining factor of what your new grad situation will look like in Boston proper. For BSN new grads, the situation is bleak but seems to be getting better. For ADN new grads, the situation is one of two things: A. Go get experience elsewhere then apply or B. Go get your BSN and then apply. I actually saw A listed on MGH's website a few years back.

Whether or not the situation will improve in a year and a half is hard to say and there are a lot of variables. When I left the hospital almost 2 years ago, they were in the business of just not replacing the majority of the departing staff.
