Don't be afraid to ask.

Realize the real learning now begins.

Know that it gets better and nursing is an amazing wonderful career. It is worth it.

You'll probably feel stupid and overwhelmed at first. You might feel like your forgot EVERYTHING from nursing school. But every single nurse starts out that way, so don't ever get into the habit of beating yourself up. That's from experience--I was super nervous and hard on myself starting out, until I realized I'm not alone.

Take it one day at a time, one task at a time. As long as you learn a little more each day, then you're doing fantastic.

Be open minded. Put effort into studying the culture of the unit. Be teachable. Smile often and learn how to laugh at yourself because you're going to be a hot mess your first year. You might as well own it lol.
