New grad looking for tips

Hi. I'm a new grad and I'm about to start my first job as an LPN on a med-surg floor. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to expect and maybe some tips for time management/organization. Anything to help me prepare would be greatly appreciated.:wink2:

Don't let anyone push you around, and treat you like less than the NURSE you are! Ask for help when you need it. Ask questions if you don't understand something. NEVER assume you know everything. Set some kind of plan for your time for each day, while realizing it could all go down the toilet on a crazy day! Document, document! Always offer to help if you have a spare minute. Take your breaks, you deserve them. Don't get involved with the gossip! Remember every patient, every day, is someone's loved one and treat them as such. That last one is the most important, in my book!

There is a really good thread about tips for new grads in the first year forum..take a look.
