New to CA from the Philippines and have a question

hi...i just arrived here in California last July 2009 as an immigrant...i finished my BS in Nursing in the Philippines last March 2009 and i didnt take my Local Board Exam because our Visa have just arriveed at that time...my question is do i have to take and pass my Local Board exam in the Philippines before taking my NCLEx here in California?... pls reply thank you

You need to contact the BRN and discuss with them. Only they can make the decision on whether you need local exam or not

Silverdragon is right you must contact the CA BRN with your questions regarding the local exams. I can tell you that I know RN's who had to return to the Philippines in order to take the local exam for requirements here in California. Each case is different, so maybe you wont have to, but you must be prepared in case if you have to. Good Luck!
