First off I would like to say hello to everyone reading. I have been lurking for quite some time and I am finally joining the board : ) I just graduated this past May with my associates degree in Mental Health Social Work, and I came to the decision of this major after finding out that my criminal background would not allow me acceptance into the nursing program : ( Well after graduation I decided that I would not allow anything to stop me from achieving my hearts desire! I am currently pursuing my last 3 pre- requisites for the nursing program, which I will complete in the winter semester. Just last week I submitted my application requesting the judge to set aside my conviction. I have prayed on this matter, and I know that it will be done! Next year this time I will be posting nervous post about receiving my acceptance letter. Classes left to take are Anatomy and physiology, and Microbiology, and of course the Hesi. I plan to apply to 6 different schools so I have plenty of information sessions to attend. I am so anxious and excited. I look forward to speaking with you all.

PRAY! Have and keep faith. (FYI-My best friend has her MSW from here in MI, and a mild criminal record...anything is possible. She is now a Juvenile Crisis Intervention Counselor in Georgia).
So good to hear stories of those that made it despite their past. I most definitely will keep the faith thanks for sharing.
