Without the entire medical file, it would be very difficult to give an educated guess. Unfortunately, due to ToS we are not allowed to give medical advise.

If it's your niece, then your best job right now is to support your sister or brother (whoever's baby it is). This is most likely the worst time in their life and they need your support. I would take them meals and offer to update other family members so that they have a buffer because likely they are getting a million calls and texts, which can be completely overwhelming.

In regards to your niece, we all wish her the best outcome. As mentioned above, we cannot give medical advice and even if we could, it would be completely inappropriate- it is something that needs to be discussed with the neonatologist and the parents of the baby.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Like the others said, per ToS we cannot give medical advice, and this thread will likely be closed, but we CAN wish you and your family the best, and the best for your niece's recovery.
