Need a rock to crawl under

Surveyor came to check my cart. I've been off for 3 days but had just cleaned it and all before I left. Of course now it's a mess. Things together that shouldn't be. Then I guess I was so nervous after that I left my cart unlocked. Had to do my walk of shame to get my drawer back. So as I was leaving the surveror had my MARs and charts pouring through them. Guess after what they already found I'm a good target.

Today has sucked.

It happens to the best of us! Especially when you work hard to make your cart up to standard and someone careless messes it up! Try not to worry so much. Most surveyors recognize that they make us nervous and we make mistakes because of it. Good luck on your survey!

I used to work with a nurse who refused to accept a perm assignment because then you have more accountability than someone who floats. She never had to answer questions about residents breaking down, reordering meds, survey, missed charting, staff problems, etc ' "oh you know how it is when you float; you just have to give them meds and call it a day". Clever.
