Need some input!

I am an LPN with 2 years experience, I currently work on a rehab floor in a community hospital. I work the weekend program, which has it's perks and it's downfalls.. I have an opporitunity to take a new position working for a women's health office/OB/GYN.. I just want to pick some brains of people who have worked OB/GYN.. I think it would be a nice change and a chance to get experience in a different area. But I'm also looking to get back in school soon for my RN. I'm also worried that I am loosing some skills working on the rehab floor. But then I'm concerned because I have no OB experience... so any input would be appreciated, thanks!!!! :nurse:

The majority of LPNs have no OB experience. You plan to return to school, where your knowledge deficits regarding OB should be filled.

In addition, I surely would not want to work Monday through Friday for a woman's health office if my immediate plans involve returning to school. Weekend work schedules tend to work out better for students since you'll have Monday through Friday off to attend school and study during unstructured time.

In a nutshell, my opinion is to stick around on the rehab floor. If you think you're loosing any skills, you'll relearn them in school. Good luck!
