Need help w/ a question about being able to transfer to another state!! PLEASE!

Hey Guys!!

So I need some advice!! I am about to finish first block of an accelerated ADN nursing program in AZ. I also have a bachelors in Family & Human development sciences from ASU (not sure that matters, just throwing it in). When I finish the nursing program I want to move back home to Colorado to work as an RN. However, I am worried about finding a job. Other students in my program recommend ,while in nursing school, to get a job at a hospital doing something else just to get your foot in the door. I understand this concept, however I don't want to work in AZ when I'm done with school!! So..............my questions: 1)Will working at a hospital doing something (registration, PCT, CNA, NA ect.) really give me a leg up getting an RN job at that particular hospital? 2) What hospitals are affiliated in Colorado and Arizona? I'm pretty sure Colorado and Arizona both have Banner, but not sure if there are any others. 3)If I did get a job in AZ at lets say Banner, could I transfer that experience/leg up to a Banner in Colorado?

Thanks for all your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :loveya:

hi, go into national nursing licenses and you will see the states that participate in the nursing compact.

hope this helps, i know what you mean, i am headed to delaware as soon as i am done....:coollook:

Thanks for responding! I know that Colorado and Arizona both are participating states in the NLC. So I will be licensed in both states.

I'm trying to figure out ...........if I get a job as a CNA or PCT at a hospital in AZ while I'm in school, could I transfer the experience to a hospital owned by the same in Colorado. Thus having a leg up in getting a RN job. (Like Banner. There are Banners in AZ & CO and they are more likely to hire RN's that already work for them (as a PCT or CNA) but can I work at a Banner in AZ and have a better chance at then getting a RN position at a Banner in CO?) I just don' t know if experience transfers across state hospital to hospital, if they are the same affiliation. I'm not sure if any of this is making sense!!!! hahahaha :/
