Need help

I have a client that is having issues with being able to get out of her home during fire drills. The two main issues are the front wheels of w/c turn and fall into the track of the sliding door making it extremely hard for her to get her chair out the door. Problem number two once out the door on to the concrete pad she is to wheel her self in the grass to a tree and "wave" until she gets the attention of the firefighters :stone In order for her to get off the pad she must wheel herself down a small make shift "ramp" which is nothing more than two square 12x12 stepping stones pushed somewhat together. She cannot do this...as the wheelchair tips dumping her out

Of course the management of the apartment complex is giving me the run around so I need help in finding info on proper exits for handicapped.

Anyone have in links??

I'm searching and searching

I would call the city and find out who would be a contact to give you or talk with you about the city building codes. You can also call the fire department in your area. Around here you can inform them the person cannot get out due to a disability.

I have had the problem with the door. I had my client put a board next to the door against the wall, thin but not so thin it would break but it needs to bend, lay it across the opening and she should be able to roll over it.

Do any of your medicaid waivers pay for ramps? Is this an apartment or a house?

UGH Second time I have tried to reply.

Thanks for the help, it sent me in the correct directions and the apartment complex will pay to fix the exit!
