Hi,

This is aneel from India i finished my bachelors degree in Nursing recently,i wnat to do a Physician assistant cource in US suggest me how do i approach

i also interested to do a masters in nursing does it require a masters to do a practice in US

Thanks

Usually in order to get into a Physcians Assistant program in the US you have to have a minimum of 2 years of FULL TIME paid experience or 2000 hours of paid experience in the medical field. Different schools have different requirements on what medical profession would qualify. In general you have nurses, medical assistants, physical therapist, occupational therapists, and maybe respiratory therapists. There may be more but it depends on the school.

In order to apply for a MSN program you generally need a RN license in the state you wish to practice in (if its an online school) or maybe a RN license in the state that the school is in. You don't need to have a MSN in order to practice as a RN, but you do need to contact the state board that you wish to practice in for their requirements in order to be licensed. I don't know what your visa status is but there might be a very long wait for an immigrant visa. Each visa is different so the timing may vary.

I strongly suggest you invest in taking some more English classes to brush up on your written skills. Speaking and writing English fluently and correctly is essential. What a medical professional may say or write may be interpreted wrong and a patient may suffer the consequences because of that persons lack of English skill.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Thank you very much for your advice
