3. how long have you been in the medical field and why did you choose this carreer?

4. please list your daily job duties?

5. what do you like/dislike about your job?

6.how many patients do you see daily?

7. which certification does your dr prefer RMA or CMA?

8.do you perform venipunctures or injections?

I am glad to help:

1. Jessica Griffin - Pacific Oncology( a susidy of Oregon Health Science University)

2. I have worked here for 3 years, all MA's are 8-5 M-F

3. I have worked in health care for 9 years( first in ALF as a caregiver- med aid, then in ALZ ward as a med aid, and finally 4 years as a CMA)

4. vitals, venipuncture, injections, assisting with procedures( we do bone marrow biopsies in office)

5. I love the patients and love the recovery stories( we are a cancer clinic)

I don't like they way we MA's are treated by a certain manager( this is not the case at every job)

It does get kinda minotinus day after day

6. we have 2-4 providers on on a given day , they see 5-20 patients pluse we have chemotherapy patientsthat just see RN's. So that is 40-70 patients a day ( it varies widely)

7. CMA throught the AAMA

8. both- venipunctures and injections ( roughly 10 venipunctures a day, 0-5 injections per day)

9. Do vitals, ask if any medication change( correct in EMR if there are any), if they are having pain( document as needed) if their living situation has changed( correct in EMR)

We are a cancer clinic so the med issue and pain issue may be specific to our facility

10. scrubs or casual business with a lab coat when drawing blood( I wear the coat all day so I don't forget to put it on. ) I have below shoulder hair which gets in the way when doing venipuncture if I don't wear it back, (so yes hair is up in a bun, pony tail or clip every day)

OUr facility rule is lab coat when drawng blood and hair neat( no specificly up or down)

11. yes- we use ARIA oncology system and are eveltly changing to EPIC system.

12. tb yes, Hep B yes( except for religous perpuses, I think, I got it in school so I don't remember the exact policy) CPR/BLS required.

.

If you have any other questions IM me.
