Need help guys.

last year i took my 1st nclex exam but unfortunately i didnt make it.

now i decided to give one more chance but i just moved in chicago Illinois, i called the BON here at IL but they gave me number to call if i have question regarding getting license here at IL. so they gave me this site where i do the testing and verifications,

Continentaltesting.net

then apply online (did it yesterday and completed)

requirements: finger print (which i did today)

then i called up and told them that i will send my fingerprint receipt but they told me that i need to get vefiried my credential and i told them that i did that before but its in NEW YORK.

question?

should i ask CGFNS if they can reissued my credential in IL BON.? possible?

i spend almost the whole day figuring this out

anyway? what should i do first?

if i dont have choice, i probably going to get my ATT here at Illinois then take my nclex here but my seeking state for license would be NY.

i dont want to go over the whole credential verification and it would take me 6 to 1yr again like what i did before when i was in NY..

comments are welcome..

thank you so much

i believe that in order to be registered for nclex, the state where you are applying must verify your credentials, even if another state (ny) has already done so. if you don't want to do that, you can always test in il, seeking licensure from ny. and then after you pass, you can be registered in il by doing "licensure by endorsement" (like transferring your license from state to state) which would be faster than trying to verify your credentials.

also you should check to see if ny and il participate in the nurse licensure compact (nlc).

good luck to you

CGFNS may be able to use the documents that NY requested for your CES report however you will need to apply to them and pay any fees. This is usually the case when applying to other states. CVS is a different process to CES

ATT will come from NY BON not IL BON. IL will not give eligibility without assessing your documentation and application

isnt just apply for att then making sure that my seeking state licensure would be NY. i dont need to contact the BON of IL. correct me if im wrong..

then take the exam here at IL, but my ATT is NY..

If you are taking exam for NY BON then you just request ATT with pearsonvue and sit exam at any pearsonvue center that does the exam and results will be forwarded to NY BON who if you pass will issue a license. However if you endorse to IL you will probably have to meet same requirements as if initial application (just as a heads up)

^thank you so much,, you are very helpful..

i just called the BON in NY they said i can get take my nclex but it would be NY license then if i passed i can get state to state endorsement, but she didnt tell me how to do it..

is it true that if i get my NY license it would be very difficult to change or endorse the other state especially IL state? requirements local board license where i was educated for nursing? true?

You need to follow site instructions on the new BON on endorsing license and see what is required if International trained.
