Need advise for applying this year.

Hello,

I am 3 classes away from finishing the Pre-reqs for nursing school and i already have an A.A. from miami dade. I was doing good (3.24 GPA) till spring of '10 i kinda messed up and got a D in A&P I and in the lab as well this was due to the fact that my family was moving to the Orlando area, so my GPA is now a 2.98. Well I am now enrolled in UCF and I am going to take Physiology this semester (Fall), and then Anatomy (Spring) and I should be well over the 3.0 mark in my GPA after all of the classes. My question is, what are my chances of getting in NOVA for Fall of 2011 with a GPA of lets say a 3.2. Also I havent been able to find any info any maybe someone looking at this post may know can I apply to FAU with out having the pre-reqs done by the application date but completed them before program start date?

Thanks!

Hey,

I don't know if things have changed since the time I started nursing school in 2008 (at FIU), but from what I recall, nursing schools will not accept anyone into the program if they have earned a grade of less than a C in any of the prerequisite courses for nursing. These courses includes your A&P, Chem, Bio, etc. Anyone who fails the prereqs (grade less than a C) will not be qualified for admission. I know FIU and a lot of the other universities in south Florida had the same guidelines. Does anyone know if things have changed since then? In your case, I hope so. Good luck and well wishes :)
