i need advice

I have been working on acute rehab floors in hospitals for 3 years. I want to get out of rehab and do acute care. How do i transition? I cant seem to find a job on acute care.

All you can do is keep trying. Your best bet would be to have any friends of yours in acute care get your name in front of their manager. Sadly my hospital has stated openly they won't hire rehab nurses. I am not sure why. We did hire one nurse who came from rehab and she did have a very hard time with prioritization but I have no idea if that was the nurse or the transition from rehab to acute. I will say that changing specialties is hard these days for everyone. It is pretty much about who you know in order to get past the HR electronic filter.
