Need some advice.

Ok for my pre-reqs I still have MicroBiology, A+P1+2, and Chemistry. I also need my english class as well but I'm not as worried about that. What I'm trying to figure out is if I take Micro, Chem, and English in the Spring semester will it be feasible to take A + P 1 and 2 during the 2 summer semesters? I am taking the classes with a friend that is also going into nursing so we will be helping each other study and also my mom is a nurse and she is excited to help me out with my classes. I'm not an idiot but I'm not a scientific genius either! I want to try and get them done before next year so I can apply for nursing school in the fall but I'm starting to think I might be taking on to much to fast... What do you guys (and girls) think?

Thanks!

Josh

You should be alright for the first semester. Micro is a bit rough, but it'll be manageable with chem and english as long as you're willing to put in the time. I think the bigger problem would be packing all that A+P into the summer semester, but my current A+P II professor teaches that condensed summer session as well and he says it's doable as long as you're willing to make it your primary focus. If you really want to get it out of the way I'd imagine its possible, but it's going to be a massive workload. Personally, Anatomy has never been my strong point, so I would never consider taking a blitz course in it. But if you can suck it up and get through it you may very well be far more prepared for the nursing program courseload then your peers.

I took Microbiology and A&P II with a few friends this summer. We all were glad that we took Micro and not happy that we took A&P II. Perhaps it would have been better had a good professor taught it, but we had two different professors and still were all dissatified with the course The people in one class thought that the tests were too hard and they were not prepared for it, while those in the other class felt that too much materal was skipped. I would advise you to try to finish A&P during the regular terms.

I took AP1 & Chem (plus nutrition) in the spring semester and then APII & Micro (plus psych) during the summer semester. The summer was a LOT of work but they all worked out well for me (got A's).
