NEED ADVICE!!! Please

Hi,

I just recieved an invitation for a direct entry master's program interview. I'm completely clueless on how to dress for the interview. I think perhaps a suit might be overdressing, but I dont want to be underdressed either. This school really prides itself in serving underrepresented populations such as transient people, and such. The program is perfect for me since I want to work with underrepresented groups, but I dont want to dress in a suit and be incongruent with their program mission and philosophy. I hope I'm making some sort of sense?

Anyhow, it is a professional program and the nursing school is ranked in the top 10, so I'm confused! Please help and any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wear the suit. I've never seen someone in a suit look overdressed if they are at an interview. If you skip the heavy makeup, jewelry and perfume you will look just right.

IMHO, they will be more taken by your eloquence and commitment to serving those in greatest need.

Good luck and Good fortune.

Hello,

I think I get your question but, want to assure you that you cannot go wrong if you wear a professional appearing and conservative suit. It is conservative right? No whistles and bells or designer creations or extreme fabrics?

Dressing down is not advised, dressing formal is not advised, (as if it were for an evening out) dressing professional is. Just because a school considers making education open to everyone does not mean that showing up in less than professional attire is encouraged.

GOOD LUCK!

I concur with sunnyjohn and Gennaver, you can't go wrong by dressing professionally.
