hi, i need to ask your advice. i finished nursing school ten years ago back in my country (didn't work as a nurse there). here in us i worked as a ma for three years before getting my rn license. what do you think are my chances of getting a job as a rn? i'm thinking to apply for a new grad program since i don't have an experience as a nurse. do you think they'll give me a chance? which hospital most likely will go for it in the burbank area?any advice will be very appreciated.

I hope you aware, some hospitals that have new grad programs do expect a long term commitment which usually includes a contract ie: 2 years. Really look at the fine print prior to any commitment.
It also depends on your personal goals, ie specialty area? Look at where you see yourself in 3-5 years from now. As previous ED /CCU Director, I also recommend you do CEU'S or some updated certification Ie. IV cert, bridge class. Like any job, you are competing with fresh new grads, who who may have multiple certications, EKG, ACLS, PALS, etc. Just do what you can to better your resume'.
Just don't rush into a decision, look at all options.
Good Luck.:)
er4u2, i'm interested in women's health so i got a npr certification and of course i got the bls cert. and i have a phlebotomy cert. i think it will help me to have all these on my resume. in regards to the contract, i don't think i have mach of the choice (being a foreign educated nurse with no experience in the hospital) i'll just be happy for somebody to be willing to give me a good training. i'm willing to learn everything. thank you for your replay.
