2nd interview with CNO

I am a new grad. I am scheduled for 2nd interview with chief nursing officer. It is for critical care unit residence program . How should I prepare my self ? What should I expect ? This is my first interview with CNO ? I would appreciate any advice.

thank you

Be prepared for a very quick interview - LOL. In my experience, it is very unusual for a CNO to participate in interviews for staff positions because they are super-busy people. Make sure you look sharp and put-together. Making eye contact and coming across as articulate and well-prepared will get you bonus points.

Take clean copies of your resume in a folder. Be prepared with '5 minute elevator speeches" on: why you became a nurse, why you expect to achieve in the residency program, your career goals, etc. If you're nervous, just say so.... "I'm anxious because want this job so much and there's so much riding on this interview". Don't be afraid to sell yourself by talking about your accomplishments in school. If you find yourself at a loss for an answer, you can gain some time by just saying something like "hmmm, can I give that some thought?" or "That's an interesting question; I haven't been asked that before".

You've got this! Tell us how it turns out.
