2nd entry program advice

hey everyone i'm new here and to the world of nursing. Right now i go to york university and I have decided that film is not for me and I am taking on the monumental task of going into nursing. I have very little in terms of science and math but i find biology interesting and and I would like to pursue something in psychology in terms of work.

this summer i am taking intro to biology, (because i only have grade 11 bio), intro to psychology and a level 3000 film class (because i have to).

Really i am here for advice, is it wise of me to change to a BSc in Psychology to try and get into 2nd entry? What other classes do i need to take you feel to get in or to be ready? How hard is it to get in and what is anyones experiences with the program/ I hope to be in 2nd entry 2015!

Hi Chip,

Have you narrowed down your schools of interest? I know Humber has a second entry program which only requires you to have completed a degree, and they have a semester where they teach the prerequisite courses such as psychology, anatomy, and physiology. Trent also has a program where you could have courses in bio, chem and math at the university or grade 12 level in addition to having taken 2 credits at the 1000 level and 1 credit at the 2000 level. You could start in 2015 with those options but the other schools require a few more prerequisites. I hope that helps.

York would be number 1, Western 2, Humber 3 and I was also thinking something like university of calgary. I'm going to look at Trent though, that sounds good. Right now though, I am trying to transfer into the BSc 90 credit (3 year) psychology program. Does it matter if you have a 3 year or 4 year degree to other schools?

Thanks!
