NCSBN

Hello all,

I am currently studying for my nclex-rn and in anxiety mode. I am hearing so many different ways to go about it. I am currently reading the Saunders and will be reading the Kaplan strategies and I also will be completing questions from the LaCharity book for delegation and prioritization.

I was also interested in doing the review from NCSBN. What is your opinion on the review?

Am I on the right track?

Thanks

Hi there. Yesterday was my 2nd attempt at the NCLEX-RN. First, I stopped reading posts on this site because I found myself reading only the posts about people saying they failed and asking for help. I have to tell you, if you find yourself reading those...STOP NOW!! I feel that I was most attracted to those posts. This will not help your confidence at all. IMO.

Second, start today being positive and speaking positive affirmations everyday. Now, on my 2nd attempt, I purchased the NCSBN 3 week study plan(doing only questions) and the LaCharity Priority Management and Delagation book. Those items where my saving grace. I never focused on my scores, I only focused on the rationales and committed them to my memory. I studied every single day for weeks while focusing on the things I did not understand. I continued studying the rationales. I also fell asleep each night to positive affirmations or progressive muscle relaxation videos on You Tube. I continued this routine for 50 days straight.

When I walked into the testing center yesterday, I left self doubt and anxiety in my car. I knew it was my time and I knew I would be successful because I was prepared this time. I sat down and repeated my affirmations and started the exam. I got bothered when I went past question 75 then to 100. The computer shut off around # 105 and I felt good.

Bottom line, NCSBN and LaCharity helped me in the way I should think while sitting for the NCLEX-RN. I hope this helps you and I hope you do well when your time comes. Good luck to you, future nurse!

Crossing my fingers. I will definitely check out those videos on you tube.
