NCP questions

Published

I've been in contact with a few nurse's here on the military base where I live. Waiting for their responses, so in the mean time...can anyone offer some insight, please

I'm getting ready to enter in to a 1 year accelerated BSN program (already have a B.S). My goal is to get that year paid for. I realize that 1 year of school requires 4 years active duty. That's fine. I'm currently a mil spouse, ready to join.

How do I go about getting the Navy to pay for this program?

When do I have to sign?

What's this sign on bonus?

When does the monthly stipend begin?

One of the docs here told me to not believe a thing any recruiter says and to get everything in writing. I'm completely new to this side of things so I have tons of questions.

Eventually I want to be a Psychiatric NP. Am I better off to go to school for that right after I obtain my BSN? I realize I'll have to give a few more years back to the Navy. Getting in contact with a healthcare recruiter has proven to be painful.
