NCLEX second attempt failed

Published

Hello I have graduated from a practical nursing program in December 2015. We sent off background checks and other paperwork late, so we were not able to test in January 2016 as promised. So I got discouraged and I stopped studying. Finally in March 2016 I received my authorization to test, so I did a week of hurst review and I used a Saunders book for questions. I tested mid March and I got all 205 questions. I was nervous and I already knew I failed. So I retested 45 days later. I used Kaplan and a few test banks. I went into my second attempt confident. I was calm and I took my time and I got all 205 again!!. I really thought I passed this time but I failed for my second time! I'm not sure what else I can do. I have done hurst and Kaplan. I'm feeling so discouraged and I don't even know where to begin.

I have heard great things about Uworld but only if you have a big knowledge base. Me personally I did virtual ATI as a gift from a few teachers. It works great as long as you put in the hard work. I took NCLEX last friday and passed with 93 questions. Dont get discouraged. You are almost there.

Thank you for the encouragement. So all you did was ati?

Yes, Virtual ATI is like nursing school where you start with strategies and such in the first module. Second module is fundamentals, third is adult health and so on. Under each module there are learning activities(powerpoints). I did all of these and took notes and if I didnt understand something I will look it up in the designated book(all ebooks given by ATI), then there is pre-practice questions then you take like a mini final test for each module. After this, your virtual coach reviews your score and gives you case studies or questions related to everything you got wrong plus you do a focused review on all things missed, then you may ask for extra practice tests on that specific module before you move on to the next module.. I have to be honest with you,, this program took me about 6 months to complete but I feel that it really prepared me. A lot of people rush through it and have written horrible reviews but i feel that it is really what you put into it. I will also suggest doing ati for content and Uworld for difficult questions and rationales.
