Hello,
I am from Canada. I am planning to be get a nursing license in the US. Some of my friends told me to choose Minnesota Board of Nursing. Where/How do I start? I am an Internationally Educated Nurse. Thank you!

What state are you hoping to work in? I suggest going through that state rather than picking a state arbitrarily.
Also please be aware of the U.S. interstate compact, these are states that it is easy to transfer licenses too, I notice Minnesota is not part of the compact. Thus a license in Minnesota will only be helpful for working in Minnesota and will not help you in the rest of the country. Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) | NCSBN
Hello, Thanks for your reply. I already read the link that you gave me about Nurse Licensure Compact and it was very helpful. I am planning to work in Massachusetts. So, you are suggesting that, Ill just apply directly to Massachussetts BON? Someone told me about Northern Mariana Islands because they don't require any SSN. I dont have any SSN because I am living in Canada right now. Any other State that you can suggest? Thank you very much once again.

Compact state license has no bearing for you as you are not living in a compact state. Better to apply to the state you plan on living and working in and I don't think MA require US SSN
Thank you very much. I planning to get a license in NMI and apply for reciprocity in Massachussetts. Hows that sound?
You may have to go through the same requirements with MA as if initial application. They may still require CES report
Does MA requires for SSN for NCLEX application?
Does MA requires SSN for NCLEX application. Thats why I chose NMI for my NCLEX application because they don't require SSN.
