NCLEX and GN permit

Published

Hi guys... I'm just really looking for some good news and hopefully reassurance that I shouldn't be freaking out. So here it is..

My boyfriend took the NCLEX yesterday (8/09/16) and finished with 75 questions. He thought he did okay but we checked the PV trick multiple times at different time intervals and got the "bad pop-up" where it said that the card was declined. This could be a false negative right? Is there anyone out there that has gotten the "card declined" messaged but still found out they passed?

Second, we are in TX so we are able to check the BON website to verify our license before the pearson vue website even has the quick results available. HOwever, today, one day after the test, I checked to see if his graduate nurse permit was still up, and it was GONE! but there was no RN license posted. Is this a definite meaning that he failed?? please someone say no and had this happen to them!

By the way.. GN permits in TX allows first time RN test takers to have this permit until they have either 1) passed the RN on the 1st time! 2)failed it on the 1st time or 3) time limit of 75 days.

The GN permit becomes invalid once NCLEX is taken, regardless of pass or fail. The PVT is a software glitch, and per anecdotal data, is less reliable within the first 24 hours. At this point, he simply needs to be patient and allow the state time to process results. Has he tried quick results? Enough time may now have passed to allow him to do so if the state participates.

Hi thank you.. Unfortunately, he did not pass.

It might just be a coincidence but in his case: he took 75 Questions, the PVT declined his card, and his GN permit was taken off of the BON in 24 hours. And then the quick results after 48 hours officially said that he failed.

In my case, I got 265 questions, I got the good pop up on the PV trick and my GN permit was on the BON website right until they put up my RN license.

So I guess in our case, all the tricks were true...
