NCLEX EXPERIENCE, will not give up

Published

Hi,

This will be my second first post in this forum. This website/forum has helped me in so many ways, therapeutically and emotionally. It is such a great resource and i thank God I came across this website two years ago before nursing school and helped me throughout. Now i would like to share my experience in NCLEX after i graduated. I feel the need to share my experience to help others with that is going through the same situation as i am.

First off, when i graduated nursing school i took the Kaplan course in our school for a week, I thought Kaplan was great with test strategies and not content. Then i decided to pay $300 for Hurst because i knew i wasn't great with content and plus i heard lots of good things about it. I really liked Hurst #1 reason: it was very entertaining #2 reason: really straight to the point of the "content that will be tested".. so after i took both courses, i studied 2 more weeks by myself and did questions everyday and spent lots of time in the library.

Come my #1 NCLEX, i was very nervous, didn't tell my classmates when i will take it and took it. After 113 questions, waited a day and got an email that says i did not pass. I was very devastated and cried and ate ice cream for a whole week. Got my results and bam failed. after a week, i went back to studying and worked 4 days a week. studied for a couple hours a day and used saunders, however i skipped some chapters in saunders. and did questions 100 a day. Unfortunately #2nd attempt 75Q is unsuccesful and #3rd attempt 76Q, preparation i did was just answer questions everyday. #4th attempt last week, my preparation was so different. I made a study plan and stuck to it for 2months, and i studied for 3-4hrs everyday and focused 2 chapter everyday. 1 week before the exam, i took off work and studied for 8hrs and gone over my notes twice. entered the testing center confident. however, i ran out of time with 203 questions. Got my CPR, all near passing standard.

At this point I'm a bit clueless on what i will do next, I'm trying not to loose myself. However, i am trying to keep positivity and will not give up until i conquer this test. i will not let this test define me.

with that being said, Im gonna ask the nursing community in this forum if what are other resources such as nclex level questions like kaplan bank are out there?? i finished kaplan and i didn't want to keep answering the same questions.

resources i have used already are:

-saunders

-kaplan

-ncsbn

-lacharity

-hurst

I will be forever grateful for any help that i could get.

Thank you!

Hire a tutor to help you figure out what the weakness is, then to overcome it. Your school may have recommendations for an NCLEX tutor, if you try caring4you.com

Don't continue to try to do this alone, when help is out there.

Best of luck!
